THE Department of Transportation (DOTr) has ordered all bus companies to fix their terminals in 60 days.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said they will inspect bus terminals after 30 days. Bus firms will then be given another 30 days to comply or face closure of their terminals plus other sanctions.
“Nag-isyu rin tayo ng 60-day notice sa lahat ng mga bus companies na pagandahin nila at ayusin nila ang mga terminal nila. So, siguro after 30 days ay iinspeksyunin natin iyan kung talagang ginagawa na nila iyan, at they have, I think, 30 more days to comply,” he said in a Palace press briefing on May 30.
“At kapag hindi sila nag-comply, sabi po natin sa kanila ay pasensiyahan po tayo, ipapasara po natin iyong mga terminals na iyon at baka may iba pang sanctions na i-impose doon sa mga bus companies na iyon,” he added.
The transport chief made the pronouncement following the inspection and closure of illegal bus terminals in Pasay City.
“Ito pong naalala ninyong ito na medyo ikinagalit natin nang kaunti, sarado na po ito, this has already been closed. Hindi na po iyan nagagamit. Ipinagbawal na po ng LTFRB iyan na gamitin and today, it is closed,” Dizon stated. (ABS-CBN News)
