BACOLOD City – Hours after he went missing, a Grade 9 student was found dead in Hacienda Paz in Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The 14-year-old Kero Bitong – resident of the village – died of drowning, a police report showed.
Kero’s body was retrieved by his father inside a culvert of a creek around 12 a.m. on Oct. 31, the report further stated.
The victim was rushed to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic but the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
According to police investigators, Kero went swimming with his friends at the creek overflow caused by the heavy rain when was carried away by the strong current./PN
