BACOLOD City – A woman was believed to have drowned in a river in Barangay Mabini, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified her as 33-year-old Jovelyn Vargas, a resident of the village.
According to police investigators, Vargas may have slipped while trying to take a bath in the river around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 27.
Her body was fished out an hour later.
Officers of the Cauayan municipal police station were still investigating the incident as of this writing./PN
