ILOILO – Local entrepreneurs and producers will have an opportunity to expand their market reach and capitalize on the holiday shopping season.
The Iloilo Provincial Government has opened registration for merchants and exhibitors joining its Christmas Trade Fair and Food Festival this December.
The annual event, one of the highlights of the Christmas celebration at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol, will provide a venue for local businesses to showcase and sell food products, handicrafts and other merchandise to holiday shoppers.
The Office of the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officer (OLEDIPO) began accepting applications on October 29, with limited slots to be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Interested participants may visit the Provincial LEDIP Office at Casa Real de Iloilo, also known as the Old Capitol Building, for registration and further details.
The provincial government hopes the trade fair will stimulate local commerce, promote Iloilo-made products and provide additional income opportunities for small businesses during the Christmas season.
“Join us in making this Christmas celebration a wonderful opportunity to support local entrepreneurs, promote homegrown products, and bring the community together through food, trade, and holiday cheer,” OLEDIPO added.
Meanwhile, the provincial government has yet to announce the theme of this year’s Capitol Christmas celebration.
Last year’s festivities featured a “Candyland Christmas” theme, transforming the Capitol grounds into a holiday attraction adorned with colorful, candy-inspired decorations.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. allocated P3.5 million for the realization of the 2025 Christmas theme./PN
