WHILE Chie Filomeno and multi-millionaire businessman Matthew Lhuillier have yet to address the status of their relationship, they continue to spark dating rumors after being seen together at a supermarket in Cebu.
Filomeno and Lhuiller were spotted shopping together at Oakridge Marketplace in Cebu, as seen in a clip posted by one Jamaica Ranis on Facebook on Friday, Nov. 28.
The clip showed the rumored pair about to pay for an item when Filomeno was asked for a photo opportunity, to which she eagerly obliged. Lhuillier then took the photo for his rumored girlfriend and the fan.
Filomeno and Lhuiller — who is part of the affluent Lhuiller clan — were rumored to be in a relationship last September after multiple sightings. Neither of them have yet to confirm or deny if there’s anything romantic between them.
However, the actress said in a lengthy statement last October that she found “new connections and new spaces,” seemingly alluding to her rumored romantic involvement with Lhuiller.
“Now, I’ve found new connections and safe spaces that I want to protect from unnecessary attention. This time, I’m choosing peace and privacy. And when the time comes, you’ll see what love looks like when it’s nurtured quietly. For now, this is what I can share — my truth, my story, my peace. I hope I won’t have to explain myself again,” she said.
Filomeno was previously in a relationship with Jake Cuenca, and while their romance ended sometime this year, the actor revealed that “no breakup” happened between them.
“I can officially say that that chapter of my life is over now. To be quite honest with you, I can at least say that I loved that person deeply… If you really love the person, you want them to have all the happiness in the world, and you want them to be happy. There wasn’t a breakup. There’s no breakup… I love that person deeply. It was incredibly [worth my time], but that chapter is over now,” Cuenca said. (Hannah Mallorca © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
