
BACOLOD City – The 59-year-old driver of the Bacolod Cosmopolitan Christian Church was shot and killed outside the said church along Circumferential Road in Barangay Taculing here on Sunday, August 24.
Police said Efren Banagloryoso, a resident of the city’s Barangay Granada, succumbed to gunshot wounds on his head, back and chest.
According to Police Captain Rosalindo Pugoy Jr., station commander of the Bacolod City Police Station 6, initial investigation revealed that a black Montero Sports stopped in front of the church around 11 a.m.
Pugoy said the long-sleeves-wearing gunman whose face was covered was allegedly sitting in the front passenger seat of the vehicle and fired at the victim multiple times before they fled.
As of this writing, police were still investigating the incident to identify the gunman and his driver, and determine the motive behind the attack./PN
