ILOILO City – Police arrested a couple in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao district.
They were 46-year-old Melvin Gonzales and his wife 32-year-old Jessa – residents Barangay Gustilo, La Paz district, a police report showed.
The Gonzales were caught after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P1,900 around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, the report added.
When frisked, the couple yielded eight more sachets of suspected illegal drugs.
Antidrug operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office staged entrapment operation, which also led to the arrest of the suspects’ companion, Mark Miranda of Barangay San Juan, Molo district.
The suspects were detained in the lockup cell of the Molo police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
