BACOLOD City – A couple yielded P2,040,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Purok San Roque Uno, Barangay Handumanan around 2:51 a.m. on Saturday.
Arrested were 39-year-old Maria Elirica Celis and 36-year-old Carlo Purillo, both residents of the place.
Police recovered a zip lock bag and 12 sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of around 300 grams.
The Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) is still determining the couple’s source of supply.
CDEU head Police Capt. Joven Mogato said Celis and Purillo were imprisoned in 2012 and 2018, respectively, for illegal drug charges.
Mogato added that the police have observed drug suspects stocking up in preparation for upcoming festivals in the city and province.
