SAN JOSE, Antique – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will commence its first regional online mentoring for interested micro, small and medium entrepreneurs on July 15.
“The mentees will no longer have to meet their mentors personally in one venue. They will have their virtual mentoring,” Wilson Alian, in charge of the Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME) program of DTI-Antique, said on July 10.
The first batch of the 2020 KMME will start with an orientation about the program, Alian added.
According to him, 14 mentees from this province will join 26 other mentees from Aklan and Iloilo provinces in the virtual sessions that will be hosted by the regional office of the DTI based in Iloilo City.
“The mentoring sessions will be every Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.,” said Alian.
Mentors who are accredited by the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship will discuss 10 modules in total. Among them are Entrep Mindset and Values Formation and Marketing Mindset.
The mentees and mentors will cap their sessions on September 9.
Meanwhile, Alian said that Antique mentees who were part of the batch that began last March 6 but sessions were suspended due to the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine to curb the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 will have to repeat from the first module.
“There will be six mentees who will have their virtual mentoring at the San Jose de Buenavista Negosyo Center (NC) and five others at (the) Sibalom NC,” he said, adding that three other mentees from this capital town, Sibalom and Patnongon opted to have the sessions either in their homes or offices.
