BACOLOD City – Personnel from the Optical Media Board (OMB) confiscated DVDs and CDs worth P13,580 in a public market in Barangay 1, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
The raid – which was led by Joseph Armaldo of the OMB – was conducted around 5 p.m. on Dec. 1.
A team from the Kabankalan City police led by Senior Inspector Edgar Tonico assisted the OMB in conducting the raid.
Ninety-seven sacks of DVDs and CDs were recovered, according to Maricel Areglo, intelligence officer of the Enforcement and Investigation Division of the OMB.
Four out of eight owners of the confiscated items signed the receipts of confiscation. Three refused and one fled.
Those who signed were JR Mangol Macodato, Jalil Sota, Lailayis Mangondaya, and Mahak Batimaio.
The owners were facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9239, or the Optical Media Act of 2003./PN
