THE Fashion Weeks are now behind us. As this year nears its closure, fashion editors and enthusiasts are now gearing up for brand new trends.

Runways showed them: the new silhouettes, fabrics, and styles. Did you miss the fashion week shows? Panay News compiled the top trends to watch out for next year.

GLAM LEISURE

The athleisure will be a thing of the past. Prominent fashion houses gave it a new spin by mixing glamorous pieces with sports wear.

“The look was particularly punchy at Valentino where Pierpaolo Piccioli The Get Down-inspired track suits, dresses, and strappy sandals with athletic ankle socks,” Vogue writes.

BIG STRIPES

The stripes are considered an old trend – but it is not fading into obsolescence anytime soon.

Lifestyleasia.com notes: “…Designers including Kenzo, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini and Tome infuses the pattern with contrasting technicolours for an extra visual boost, while Fendi and Delpozo have opted for a softer and more gracious approach.”

MIXED PRINTS

Gone are the days when the rule “don’t mix and match” is being followed. Nowadays, mixing and matching are prominent in the fashion world. London Fashion Week dared to mix bold patterns and it did not disappoint.

SATIN

The runways showed too many satin fabrics, making it a trend to watch out for next year. According to wwd.com, “its sheen instantly elevates any silhouette (and) … its inherent fluidity and lightness makes it comfortable to wear all night long.”

PLAID

A classic trend, plaid is making noise for next year.

Vogue writes, “These aren’t your run-of-the-mill checks and tartans. Plaids are getting a heavy dose of cool with variations on shapes and shades that are a far cry from the Scottish Highlands.”

LAVENDER

Move over, millennial pink. Lavender was a prominent choice for designers Victoria Beckham, Michael Kors and Tibi. They incorporated the color to create high-fashioned and fresh looks.

DRESSED UP DENIM

The denim will be given a new twist come 2018. The staple got a more glamorous statement with designers pairing them with dresses, tailored blazers, and elegant tops.

JUMPSUITS
