ILOILO – A fire broke out at Nanga Integrated School in Barangay Nanga, Guimbal town, and razed a classroom and an adjacent daycare center, on Tuesday morning, November 11.
Authorities said the blaze originated from the Grade 6 classroom and quickly spread to a neighboring daycare center.
The fire also hit a portion of the nearby barangay hall, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Guimbal.
Fire Officer 2 Arnold Gatanela, arson investigator of BFP-Guimbal, said the Grade 6 classroom and daycare center were destroyed while the barangay hall was partially damaged.
The fire, BFP-Guimbal said, caused an estimated P1,718,520 in damage.
Fire investigators added that the blaze was believed to be electrical in nature./PN
