ILOILO City – Four drug personalities were arrested while three others managed to flee after yielding around P1.6 million worth of illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation on Tuesday, September 1, in Purok Paghidaet, Barangay Poblacion Zone 2, Estancia, Iloilo.
The operation, conducted at around 7:45 p.m., led to the apprehension of four suspects identified as alias “Panggoy,” 36, a resident of Barangay Daan Banwa; alias “Maymay,” 39, of Barangay Poblacion Zone 2; alias “Toto,” 20, of Barangay Zone 1; and alias “Toytoy” of Barangay Pa-on.
Three other companions – aliases “Tato,” “Alfie,” and “Dodoy” – were able to escape after realizing they were dealing with undercover police officers. Manhunt operations were ongoing to locate the fleeing suspects as of press time.
Police recovered approximately 230 grams of suspected shabu from the suspects.
According to Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), the group had been under surveillance prior to the sting.
The four arrested are currently under the custody of the Estancia Municipal Police Station. They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
