THE Girl Scouts of the Philippines commemorated its 80th founding anniversary on May 26, celebrating 8 decades of helping girls and young women reach their fullest potential and empowering them to serve others and their communities.
With the theme, ‘GSP@80: One Family, One Mission,’ this year’s celebration highlighted the familial character of the Organization that made it stand the test of time and strengthen its legacy.
Through 80 years, GSP’s program has evolved but kept the girls at the center of its mission. In keeping with the global movement’s call for relevant and girl-led activities, this year’s 80th anniversary activities were initiated by Girl Scouts. The anniversary program and activities were available in the social media accounts of the GSP: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
On May 26, 1940, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines was chartered under Commonwealth Act No. 542 during the administration of President Manuel L. Quezon./PN
