ILOILO City – A drinking session turned bloody after a man hacked his laborer friend in Barangay Calaya, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.
The victim – 57-year-old resident Liberato Auquido – sustained a hack wound on the nape.
He was confined at the Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Provincial Hospital.
Police identified the suspect as 47-year-old resident Loreto Estanol.
An argument while the two were drinking liquor around 1:45 p.m. on July 31 led to the hacking, a police report showed.
Estanol used a bolo. He fled after the incident, police said.
Another drinking spree on the same day turned violent – this time in Barangay Arsenal-Aduana, City Proper.
Ronald Espinosa, 24, of Barangay Maria Clara, City Proper sustained stab wounds on the lower back and the neck, a police report showed.
His attacker was identified only as a certain “Naldo,” who used a knife and fled after the incident past 12 midnight.
Espinosa was rushed to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao. (With Alexandra Luise Escalante, Intern/PN)
