HEART Evangelista admitted that she experienced being taken advantage of financially by an unidentified former boyfriend who treated her like a “sugar mommy.”

The actress-fashion influencer made this confession during an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” Friday, June 5. Also present during the interview was her “The People Have Spoken” co-host Sean Lucas.

Evangelista opened up about the topic after show host Abunda asked whether or not she agrees on the sentiment that whoever initiates the date should pay for it.

Evangelista initially agreed, but pointed out that it only applies if the date involves friends.

Pag lalaki, oo naman, magbayad ka. Buhok ko pa lang magkano na binayad ko,” she said. “Pero sa pagkakaibigan, I feel like — because I like to host — that’s me.”

The actress-fashion influencer was then asked if she ever experienced spending heavily on a guy.

Lagi akong gumagastos. Sira ako sa lalaki!” she admitted, laughing it off.

“But no, that’s my language of love,” she explained. “That’s always been my language of love… I’m very, very generous.”

However, Evangelista disclosed how she felt one of her ex-boyfriends took advantage of her generosity.

“I did have one boyfriend that I felt like, he was not too — there was something that left a bad taste in my mouth. Just one, but I won’t say who,” she said. “I felt like, ‘I feel like a sugar mommy na.’”

Abunda asked for hints on the identity of the guy the actress was referring to, but the latter did not give specific details.

“He’s really — but they’re all good-looking,” she quipped. “Mabait naman. Baka kailangan lang talaga niya. Extra help.”

“Okay lang. Use and abuse me, charot,” she further joked.

During the interview, Evangelista also said that she is not friends with most of her exes, noting that actor-director John Prats is the only former boyfriend with whom she has remained close. (Anne Pasajol © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
