ICPO nets P114.2-M illegal drugs, 593 suspects in 8-month drive

ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) arrested 593 suspects and seized P114.2 million worth of illegal drugs across the city over the past eight months.

Records from the ICPO showed that from January to August, various police units executed 487 anti-drug operations, resulting in the confiscation of over 15 kilograms of suspected shabu and marijuana worth approximately P114.2 million.

Of the 593 arrested suspects, 162 were classified as high-value individuals (HVIs), 413 were street-level individuals (SLIs), 11 were apprehended by virtue of arrest warrants, and seven were newly identified.

ICPO date further showed that the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) recorded the highest volume of confiscations, netting eight kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P53.7 million and arresting 102 drug personalities,

Among the city police stations, Iloilo City Police Station 2 in La Paz district yielded the second-highest seizure with P17.9 million worth of illegal drugs and 73 arrests. Iloilo City Police Station 4 in Molo followed, accounting for P10.7 million in confiscated drugs and 58 arrested individuals.

Police Colonel Wilbert Parilla, ICPO director, lauded all operating units for the successful implementation of the citywide campaign against illegal drugs.

“These accomplishments reflect not only our operational efforts but also the cooperation of the community,” Parilla said. “Our campaign remains relentless. There are no limitations – whether during holidays or ordinary days, our fight will continue. The ICPO will remain aggressive, intensify operations, and deliver strong results against anyone involved in illegal drug activities.”/PN
