Iloilo, Antique jins shine in online poomsae tilt opener

ILOILO City – Ilonggo and Antiqueno taekwondo jins clinched medals in the opener of the 2020 Smart/MVP Sports Foundation National Online Poomsae Taekwondo Championships on Saturday.
Loyd Gabriel Jalbuna spearheaded the fight for A. Diasnes Taekwondo by capturing the gold medal in the yellow male 9-11 category. His stablemate Raphy Seneres, meanwhile, nabbed the bronze award.

Klyza Chin, for her part, grabbed the silver medal in the red female 9 and below class. The same award was also won by Kasimira Consular in the red female cadet contest and Almar Diasnes in the red/brown male senior bracket, respectively. 

Other bronze medal finishers for A. Diasnes were Hannah Margarette Dello in the red female 10-11 class, Diana Dello in the red female cadet group, Audric Balsomo in the red male junior category, and Elizabeth Marie Borres in the black female cadet bracket.
For the Iloilo Mark V. Pinggol Taekwondo Gym, Shanen Feranco (red female junior) and Cyd Edryc Esmaña (black male cadet) clinched silvers while Clyde Anthony Chua (black male cadet) and Ma. Glaiza Fae Cordero (black female grade school) settled for bronze finishes.
Antique TKD, on the other hand, was able to showcase its quality through Carl Raymond Pe’s gold medal performance in the red male 10-11 category and Annica Fione Pava bronze finish in the red female 10-11 bracket.
The country’s first-ever online tournament came in the heels of the Filipinos’ three-gold haul in the 1st Online Daedo Open European Poomsae Championships early May./PN
