BACOLOD City – He was trying to pacify a commotion in Barangay Mabini, Valladolid, Negros Occidental when he was stabbed, a police report showed.
The 38-year-old resident Wilfredo Panes sustained a stab wound on the left chest and was pronounced “dead on arrival” at the Valladolid District Hospital, police said.
It was Jonathan Casiano, also a resident of the village, who attacked Panes using a bladed weapon around 11 p.m. on Sunday, the report stated.
According to investigators, Casiano had a heated argument with another person who was not named in the report.
Casiano was arrested and now detained at the Valladolid municipal police station lockup facility./PN
