Motorcycle ‘thief’ arrested; Honda XRM, firearm seized

BACOLOD City – A suspected motorcycle thief was spotted by his victim in Barangay Bato, Sagay City around 6:10 p.m. Saturday. With police operatives tipped off immediately, the suspect was arrested.

Chief Inspector Robert Mansueto, Sagay City police head, identified the suspect as Gylier Garota Baron, 41, “Alias Eyoy” of Barangay Bato, Sagay City.

The police response was led by Senior Inspector Ellendie Rebusquillo, Sagay City police deputy chief, arresting the suspect and seizing the stolen motorcycle.

Police operatives also confiscated from Baron, one improvised 12-gauge shotgun, locally known as “sulpak”, with three live bullets of the same caliber.

A black Honda XRM 110 motorcycle with plate number 7559 FG was stolen at Escalante City, Negros Occidental on Nov. 2 at around 4:50 p.m. – as reflected in the blotter book of Escalante City Police Station. The motorcycle was owned by Jory Carbaquel Hubahib of Barangay Tamlang, Escalante City.

The suspect was detained and charged with car-napping and violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
