BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) will coordinate with the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) on the cases of missing persons.
Over the past few weeks, several unidentified bodies were recovered in Bacolod City. The most recent was the decomposing remains of two individuals at a drainage system in Barangay Felisa on Sunday, April 30.
NOCPPO spokesperson, Police Captain Judesses Catalogo, said they have not recorded any missing individuals in the province.
Meanwhile, the two individuals allegedly abducted from La Castellana were found alive and have since returned home, added Catalogo.
The only option to identify the remains, he said, would be to conduct a DNA test, which is too expensive.
According to Catalogo, the NOCPPO has not monitored vigilante groups in the province amid the recovery of dead bodies and chopped-off body parts./PN
