THE NATIONAL Telecommunications Commission (NTC) recorded P9.33-billion worth of revenues in 2025, exceeding its original collection target, the agency said on Feb. 1.
In a release, the NTC said last year’s revenue was P2.709 billion, or around 41 percent higher than their P6.622-billion target.
NTC Commissioner Ella Blanca Lopez said the agency’s revenue performance was due to strengthened regulatory compliance.
Lopez also attributed the positive development to stricter regulatory enforcement, improved collection efficiency, and continued growth in the telecommunications sector.
“By… improving collection efficiency, the NTC supports the administration’s efforts to ensure sound public finance, effective regulation, and the delivery of programs that advance digital connectivity, consumer protection, and inclusive national development,” Lopez said.
The commission said their revenue collections are directly remitted to the treasury bureau to fund various government programs, including the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) free-wifi program.
The NTC regulates cable and commercial television operators, broadcast radio stations, telecommunications firms, radio operators, internet access service providers, and other providers. (ABS-CBN News)
