NUMANCIA, Aklan – Police arrested two suspects in a robbery case in Barangay Bulwang here.
Jonito Villafuerte and Mark Bel Dionito were apprehended in Barangay Jalas, New Washington, Aklan.
Cops recovered from them P67,680 cash and a mobile phone.
The Barangay Bulwang robbery victims were couple Michael and Vebsy Reyes of Barangay Pusiw, Numancia.
On their way home, the couple spotted a motorcycle that appeared to have fallen on its side. They stopped to check out what they believed to be a road mishap. Two men suddenly appeared, declared a holdup, took their bag which contained money then left.
The couple immediately sought the police’s help.
A hot pursuit operation was launched leading to the suspects’ arrest.
Villafuerte and Dionito were taken to the Numancia police station./PN
