ILOILO City – Two motorcycles collided in Barangay Poblacion, Anilao, Iloilo, killing a 79-year-old man.
Francisco Araneta was declared “dead on arrival” at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district here where he was transferred from the district hospital in Barotac Nuevo town on Monday.
According to Senior Inspector Ronald Paclibar of Anilao, Araneta was heading home when his motorcycle was hit by the motorcycle driven by a 13-year-old boy around 7:48 a.m.
The boy lost control of his motorcycle, said Paclibar.
The boy was turned over to Anilao’s Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
Paclibar urged parents to keep an eye on their children and not permit them to drive motorcycles on their own.
The boy’s parents and Araneta’s family have also talked, said Paclibar./PN
