BACOLOD City – The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) scored another significant victory against illegal drugs before 2025 ended. Approximately P3,638,000 worth of suspected shabu were confiscated in two separate buy-bust operations in this city on December 30 and 31.
The first operation was carried out by the Bacolod City Police Office’s (BCPO) Police Station 8 at around 9:54 p.m. on December 30 in Purok Mainabyanon, Barangay Singcang-Airport. Police arrested alias “Ernesto,” 48 years old, and a resident of the said place.
He yielded one big heat-sealed sachet (buy-bust item), six big heat-sealed sachets and three knot-tied plastic bags of suspected shabu weighing a total of 335 grams and valued at around P2,278,000.
At around 1:40 a.m. the next day, December 31, officers of the Police Station 2 seized 200 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P1,360,000 in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2.
Police identified the suspects as aliases “Sir Erns,” 27, and “Ernie,” 40, both residents of Purok Mainabyanon, Barangay Singcang Airport.
Also recovered from them were genuine P1,000 bill and 49 pieces of P1,000 in boodle money, black sling bag, and top-down tricycle.
All suspects were taken into police custody. They will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
