ILOILO City – The Del Castillo family is offering P100,000 while Iloilo City’s Mayor Jerry P. Treñas added P50,000 cash reward to anyone who can point to the whereabouts of the suspect and his associates in the fatal shooting of Sean Axel Del Castillo at Smallville Complex, Mandurriao district here on August 20.
Suspect John Rovel Vargas and his companions were still at large, and Del Castillo’s family is asking for help from the authorities and the public.
According to Will Botor, uncle of Del Castillo, their family is not rich but they contributed for the reward money and to give justice to the victim.
“Walang lugar ang killers at masasamang tao sa Iloilo at sa buong Panay Island!” Botor said.
He believes that Ilonggos are known for being kind loving and helpful, and will not, in any way, tolerate this and any kind of criminality.
“Para lang sa tripping? Bata pa ni siya, damo pa ini handom. Ikaw John Rovel Vargas, ngaa ginpatay mo gid ni siya?” expressed the victim’s mother.
Del Castillo’s family is also appealing to Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Leo Francisco and the law enforcement agencies to speed up the delivery of justice because the family cannot accept that the victim was killed without a valid reason.
Treñas has also ordered the Iloilo City Police Office to do everything to arrest the suspect whose last known addresses were in the towns of Pavia, Iloilo and Nabas, Aklan./PN
