ROXAS City – A total of P20 million was allocated in the 2017 provincial government budget for the allowance of barangay health workers (BHWs) in Capiz.
Capiz is taking in 5,000 accredited BHWs. Accreditation is ongoing.
Each BHW is entitled to P1,000 every three months.
Food and transport allowances will be deducted from the gross amount, Gov. Antonio del Rosario recently told a meeting with BHWs and Liga ng mga Barangay officials.
The BHWs are tasked to facilitate the identification of medical, financial, educational, employment, and burial assistance of the locals, among others.
Their allowances may be distributed starting January 2017.
A meeting will be held every three months for the review and assessment of the BHWs’ performance, said del Rosario. (With Capiz Aksyon News Center/PN)
