Sta. Ana, Manila. The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office rejoined the special crisis intervention team assembled by the Office of the President, headed by Senator Lawrence Christopher “Bong” Go together with the following government Agencies ( DSWD, DTI, DAR, PAGCOR and the Local Government Unit) dedicated to fullfill their respective roles and unique contribution to the Bayanihan Act on March 9, 2021.
PCSO along with the other agencies assisted the 26 families who lost their homes and personal properties during a fire at Barangay 892 in Sta. Ana, Manila, which occurred last March 05, 2021. A bag filled with 5kilos of rice, canned goods, powdered milk and a fresh new blanket was given to the fire victims who at present time are displaced and are being relocated and facilitated by Barangay Chairperson Sonia Manzano and her team.
The said fire occurred on March 5 at exactly 11:30 in the morning which quickly spread, affecting the 26 families and eventually ended up temporary homeless and lost all their personal possessions. Luckily no one perished during the horrific incident.
Chairperson Manzano thanked PCSO by saying “ Nagpapasalamat ako at ang aking mga kawani kay GM Royina Garma at sa PCSO sa inyong ipinagkaloob na tulong para sa aking mga ka-barangay na nasunugan. Ito po ay makakatulong ng malaki sa kanila at magagamit na pantawid sa kanilang kondisyon. Salamat po sa PCSO.”

Nanay Linda Oracion was one of the victims who lost her home and now has only herself and her family whom she saved gave a brief message to PCSO and said “ Naliligo po ako noong nangyari ang insidente na iyon, wala po ako naisalba kundi ang mga anak ko at alaga. Nagpapasalamat po ako sa mga umayuda sa amin tulad ng PCSO at sa kanilang ibinigay na grocery packs na tunay naming magagamit. Salamat po Ginang Garma at PCSO.”
