ILOILO City – A suspected “bookies” bet collector has been arrested in Barangay Guintas, Leganes, Iloilo.
Intelligence operatives of the Leganes police station caught the 44-year-old Celma Alipante at around 4:05 p.m. Thursday.
Alipante was soliciting bets for the illegal numbers game, stated a police report.
A female shoulder bag, two cotejos (betting stubs), two ball pens, two identification cards for “ZFIC Iloilo Gaming Corporation,” and P410 worth of bet money were recovered from Alipante.
Alipante faces a charge for violating Republic Act 9287, which increased penalties for illegal numbers games./PN
