ILOILO City – Three individuals landed in jail after they were caught in possession of around 150 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P1,020,000, on Wednesday night, September 16, in Barangay Igang, Pototan, Iloilo.
Operatives from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s (IPPO) Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit Teams 1 and 2, and the Pototan Municipal Police Station carried out the operation at 6:15 p.m., resulting in the arrest of aliases “Ruth,” 25, and “Bedik,” 36, both residents of Barangay Igang; and alias “”Bobot,” 42, of Barangay Barasan, Pototan.
According to Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director Colonel Bayani Razalan, the three suspects had been under surveillance for several days after authorities received reports regarding their involvement in the illegal drug trade.
Razalan commended his personnel for their hard work and vigilance, which led to the successful sting.
“Our intensified campaign against illegal drugs is anchored on timely intelligence, careful and focused validation, and coordinated law enforcement operations,” Razalan said.
He emphasized that the IPPO will remain relentless in pursuing drug personalities operating across the province.
“This success is a testament to what we can achieve when the police and the community stand united. I urge our fellow Ilonggos to continue working hand-in-hand with us so we can sustain our pursuit of peace and ensure a safer environment for every family in the province,” he added.
