ILOILO – Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and confiscated approximately 70 grams of suspected shabu valued at around P476,000 during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dacutan, Dumangas, Iloilo, on Tuesday evening, August 4,.
Police identified the suspect by the alias “Vivo,” 40, a married agricultural trucking checker based in Dumangas and a resident of Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
The joint operation was conducted at around 7:07 p.m. by the Dumangas Municipal Police Station (MPS)–Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group–Special Operations Unit 6 (PDEG SOU-6), and the Iloilo Maritime Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). The arrest followed extensive intelligence monitoring, surveillance, and target validation.
Seized from the suspect were 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu — including the buy-bust item — alongside one knot-tied plastic sachet, buy-bust money, and various non-drug-related items.
The suspect was detained at the Dumangas MPS, facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
PRO-6 director Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaño commended the joint operating units and reaffirmed the police force’s stance against illegal drugs in the region.
