BACOLOD City – A 36-year-old man suspected to have robbed a teacher of cash and jewelry had been arrested.
Joseph Bela-ong of Barangay Pahanocoy was caught in Barangay Mandalagan in a follow-up operation on Monday.
A total of P71,000 worth of jewelry were seized from him.
Bela-ong allegedly took P400,000 worth of jewelry from the teacher’s house in Barangay Singcang. He was placed in the rogues’ gallery. The victim saw him when he left the house and hired a tricycle.
Bela-ong denied taking the other missing jewelry, said Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman Jr., Police Station 8 chief.
Aside from the jewelry, he also allegedly took P99,000 cash./PN
