BACOLOD City – A man was shot in Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
The 44-year-old resident Gabriel Layaog sustained gunshot wound on the wrist, a police report showed.
Police identified the suspect as 43-year-old resident Herman Mayang.
According to police investigators, Mayang shot Layaog around 6:30 a.m. on Friday.
Layaog was brought to the Dr. Gumersindo Garcia Sr. Memorial Hospital in Kabankalan City for medical treatment.
The motive in the shooting was not immediately established.
Officers of the Kabankalan City police station conducted a manhunt operation against Mayang, who fled after the incident./PN
