BACOLOD City – The tractor driver believed to have been hacked to death on Dec. 14 was found in a shallow grave at a sugarcane field in Barangay Alianza, Bago City, Negros Occidental on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 18.
Police said 42-year-old Boddy Custodio was a resident of Purok Kalubihan, Barangay Bacong, Bago City.
Police Major Ronald Santillan, Bago City police chief, said Custodio was hacked to death by two individuals identified only by their aliases “Jundi” and “Lolen” on Dec. 14.
Both suspects were also laborers at the said sugarcane field.
According to Boddy’s son John Michael, prior to the hacking there was a commotion between their family and the suspects.
On Dec. 14 while they were taking a walk, the Custodios chanced upon the suspects drunk.
Mistaking that Boddy and John Michael were “out for blood” even though they do not have the intention to hurt anyone, they were chased by the suspects, police said.
The father and son later decided to split up, with the son heading to his in-law’s house.
Boddy would then remain missing until his remains were found on Sunday, already in an advanced state of decomposition.
Bago City police are still investigating the incident and are now trying to identify the real names of the two suspects, both of whom are residents of Isabela town./PN
