ILOILO City – Two persons were caught engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay Patag, Lambunao, Iloilo.
Jeric Berja, 18, of Barangay Dalid, Lambunao and Christer Parcon, 23, of Barangay Maribong, Lambunao were caught betting on a basketball game around 5 p.m. on Aug. 8, police said.
Recovered form their possession were P1,000 bet money, the police added.
The suspects were taken to the municipal police station.
Presidential Decree 1602 punishes anyone who will “indirectly or indirectly take part” in “any game scheme, whether upon chance or skill, wherein wagers consisting of money, articles of value or representative of value are at stake or made.”/PN
