ILOILO City – Five people were injured after a van and a motorcycle crashed in Barangay Qui-anan, San Joaquin, Iloilo yesterday.
Both headed on the same direction, the vehicles were travelling down a sloped road around 1 p.m. when they lost their brakes, according to Senior Inspector Wilmar Bolivar, municipal police chief.
Brought to a hospital in San Joaquin were the motorcycle driver Arnold Semilla; van driver Arnulfo Ponce, 52, of Mambusao, Capiz; and van helpers Roly Gayatin, 55, of La Paz district and Joel Vilaula, 32.
The 19-year-old Almera Lyn Semilla, who was pregnant, was referred to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district.
Ponce was later detained in the San Joaquin police station lockup cell./PN
