VINA Morales set the record straight on rumors linking her and Jake Ejercito romantically, saying he is only a “good friend.”
Morales put the rumors to rest in a recent guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” explaining that she and Ejercito only attended the same event at the time she posted a photo with him.
“Actually, we were just at a show together. We campaigned; it was just overnight. Then, after the event, we went swimming […] But really, he’s a good friend,” she said.
Rumors between the two actors began in May when Morales posted photos of herself and Ejercito alongside other people inside a private plane prior to their arrival in Sulu after being invited by Sulu (1st District) Rep. Samier Tan to participate in a motorcade.
Meanwhile, Morales also spoke up about her relationship with non-showbiz partner Andrew Kovalcin, saying that the long-distance romance didn’t quite work out for them.
“It’s really hard. For others, it might work, but for me, most of the LDR relationships I’ve had didn’t work out. So, I guess it’s not for me. I mean, it’s hard to force something that’s not for you,” the actress stated.
When asked if she’s open to the idea of dating someone younger than her, Morales did not rule out the possibility, stating, “Never say never. But I don’t know; I mean, if there’s someone.”
Morales currently stars in the drama series “Cruz vs. Cruz” opposite Gladys Reyes. They are joined by Neil Ryan Sese, Kristoffer Martin, Lexi Gonzales, Elijah Alejo, Pancho Magno, Gilleth Sandico, Caprice Cayetano and Cassy Lavarias. (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
