BACOLOD City – Police have yet to identify the suspect in fatally shooting a man in Barangay San Jose, Toboso, Negros Occidental.

The 18-year-old resident Kent John Lumanog was binge drinking with friends when he was shot around 11 p.m. on Friday, a police report showed.

From what the police gathered so far, the suspect fired at Lumanog at a close range.

Lumanog sustained a gunshot wound on the stomach. He was rushed to the Toboso Rural Health Unit and later transferred at the Teresita Lopez Jaladoni Memorial Provincial Hospital where he expired.

The village was celebrating its annual fiesta when the shooting happened.

Police have yet to determine the motive in the shooting./PN
