BACOLOD City – She was not as lucky as the four others after a truck bumped into the passenger jeepney they were riding while at Tante Bridge in Barangay San Jose, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
The 43-year-old Maria Gracia Roldan of Barangay East, Candoni, Negros Occidental died on the spot, a police report showed.
The incident that happened around 10 p.m. on Thursday also injured Fathchi Togado, Felipe Jacinto, Faustino Evangelista, Sofia Nicole Roldan, and Consolacion Togado – also residents of Barangay East, Candoni.
According to the police, the mini-dump truck driven by the 27-year-old Joyrel Serbo of Barangay Caradio-an, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental hit the rear end of the jeepney, causing the passengers to be thrown outside the vehicle.
Serbo was detained at the Binalbagan municipal police station lockup facility./PN
