ILOILO City – A total of 131 fugitives were arrested in Western Visayas from February 1 to 15.
Based on data from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), various units executed 139 operations, leading to the arrest of 28 individuals who belonged to the top 10 most wanted in the region and 103 others accused of lesser offenses.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (PPO) recorded the highest number of arrests with 61 fugitives, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office with 26, and Antique PPO with 13.
Iloilo PPO director Colonel Bayani Razalan said the successful 15-day campaign against fugitives was a joint effort by police stations across the province.
“They efficiently acted on my directive to check for individuals with outstanding warrants in their respective areas and place them behind bars,” Razalan said.
Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, PRO-6 director, lauded the dedication and relentless efforts of the operating units. He said all top 10 fugitives were captured through the help of the community and strong barangay intelligence network.
“These achievements reflect the commitment and determination of our personnel to ensure that fugitives face justice. PRO-6 remains steadfast in its mission to maintain peace and order and to make Western Visayas a safer place,” Ligan added./PN
