Drug charges mulled against Toboso’s ‘Top 7’ drug pushing suspect

BACOLOD City – Detained at the police station of Toboso, Negros Occidental, a drug suspect faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The Toboso police classified 49-year-old Rey Manunag as the town’s Top 7 street level individual (SLI) drug suspect.

Manunag was arrested in a police buy-bust operation in Sitio Bebang, Barangay General Luna, Toboso at around 11:20 a.m. on Nov. 14.

Cops seized from Manunag – a resident of Sitio Burgos, Barangay General Luna – two small heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu valued at P6,392.

They also impounded the suspect’s red Kawasaki Barako 125 motorcycle.

The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 defines a pusher as “any person who sells, trades, administers, dispenses, delivers or gives away to another, on any terms whatsoever, or distributes, dispatches in transit or transports dangerous drugs or who acts as a broker in any of such transactions.”/PN
