ILOILO City – An estimated P598,400 worth of suspected shabu was recovered from a drug surrenderee in Purok Drop, Barangay Acuit, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
The 43-year-old Liberato Lilia sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P10,500.
The police further recovered eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 88 grams.
Lilia surrendered to the police sometime in 2017, but he failed to finish his drug rehabilitation, according to Police Major Reagan Oriña, Barotac Nuevo chief.
“After his surrender, he again engaged in illegal drug activity; that’s why we conducted surveillance to validate ang mga information na natanggap namin at nang nag-positive, nag-conduct kami ng buy-bust,” Oriña said.
The operating units have yet to determine the suspect’s source.
Lilia was charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
