ILOILO City – A farmer was nabbed after allegedly assaulting the village chief of Barangay Salde, Culasi, Antique.
Police identified the suspect as 65-year-old resident Rolly Alvaro, a police report showed.
According to police investigators, village chief Lolita Magsipoc, 56, responded to the area where Alvaro became unruly.
Alvaro then attacked Magsipoc using a bolo around 10 p.m. on June 30, it added.
The suspect was detained in the lockup cell of the Culasi, municipal police station, facing charges./PN
