ILOILO – A farmer shot to death his brother-in-law in Barangay Binaliuan Menor, Tigbauan town.
The 58-year-old Reynaldo Buenaflor was detained at the Tigbauan police station.
Police said the shooting happened at around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2021. Buenaflor and 48-year-old Federico Tubuc were binge drinking.
There was a misunderstanding between the two, police said.
Tubuc died at the Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial District Hospital in adjacent Guimbal town due to a gunshot wound on his chest.
A day earlier, on Dec. 27, 2021, a 55-year-old father stabbed his son in Barangay Baguingin Lanot, Alimodian, Iloilo.
Nestor Canitan, detained at the Alimodian police station, was subsequently charged with parricide by his family at the Iloilo Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
He stabbed his 27-year-old son Archie on the chest during an argument.
Police said the father came home drunk./PN
