THERE seems to be no relief in sight for motorists as another wave of fuel price hikes are likely next week, estimates from industry players showed Friday, September 12.
In an advisory, Jetti Petroleum Leo Bellas said the prices of diesel may increase by 30 centavos to 50 centavos per liter.
Gasoline prices may also rise up by 10 centavos, but they may also decrease by as much.
Initial estimates from the Department of Energy (DOE) also showed an increase of more or less 20 centavos and 50 centavos for gasoline and diesel, respectively.
Kerosene, meanwhile, may remain unchanged.
If the upward movements in pump prices were implemented, next week will mark the fifth consecutive weekly increases for gas and fourth for diesel.
Both Bellas and the DOE cited the rising geopolitical tensions as one of the key factors influencing the potential hike. (Philippine Daily Inquirer)
