BACOLOD City — A total of 15,199 families previously tagged as “left out” or “replaced” in the distribution of Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) assistance for Typhoon “Tino” will receive financial aid during the final payout set on March 9 to 12.
The payout follows a call made in December 2025 by the City Government of Bacolod under Mayor Greg Gasataya to review cases of residents who were not included in the initial distribution of assistance.
Gasataya earlier said that more than 15,000 affected residents were excluded from the previous ECT payout. Acting on the appeal, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the DSWD Negros Island Region, conducted a review and validation in coordination with the city’s Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD).
Following validation, the affected families were scheduled for inclusion in this month’s final payout.
DSSD head Richelle Verdeprado-Mangga said the financial assistance will be released from March 9 to 12 for beneficiaries who were excluded from the earlier list.
Of the total, 102 severely affected households will receive P10,325 each, while 15,097 slightly affected families will receive P5,369 each.
The total amount allocated for this batch is P82,108,889.
Beneficiaries are advised to bring a valid identification card and a signed Family Access Card for Families in Disaster (FACED) form. The DSSD also reminded recipients to coordinate with their respective barangays to confirm eligibility and check their assigned venue and payout schedule.
Typhoon “Tino” affected more than 50,000 families in Bacolod City.
Records from the DSSD showed that during the December 2025 payout, 18,253 families benefited under Batch 1, while 21,111 families received assistance under Batch 2.
The same records indicated that a total of 54,563 families, including the final batch of “left out” beneficiaries, have been provided with ECT assistance.
City officials said the final payout aims to ensure that all validated beneficiaries receive the assistance due to them as part of the government’s disaster response efforts./PN
