ILOILO – A woman who was found dead in a cornfield in Barangay San Antonio, San Enrique town on June 19 has been identified.
The victim was Hera Torrecampo, a resident of Zone 6, Barangay Boulevard, Molo, Iloilo City, according to the San Enrique Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Her family members, including his son Jade, went to the San Enrique MPS on Thursday night, and Jade confirmed his mother’s identity after seeing her face.
In an interview with Aksyon Radyo Iloilo, Jade said his mother did not return home for two days.
As of this writing, authorities were still investigating the circumstances of Torrecampo’s death
It was reported that a woman’s body was found past 8 a.m. by a local resident in a cornfield in Barangay San Antonio. Police believed the victim may have been left in the field after suffering physical violence.
Police Lieutenant Christy Val Dalde, chief of the San Enrique MPS, said the victim bore bruises on her arms, legs, and around her eyes. She was wearing an orange pair of shorts and a white sleeveless top. She also has a tattoo with the words “Jesus Christ” on her back.
Authorities suspect that the victim may have been dumped in the area and that the incident could have happened elsewhere.
“Wala pa gid sang may nakakilala sa iya. Wala man sang missing person report nga nag-connect sa iya pagkatawo,” Dalde said on Thursday./PN
