ILOILO – Charged with rape, the No. 1 most wanted man in Western Visayas was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Estancia town around 11 a.m. yesterday.
The 52-year-old engine mechanic, Renante A. Cañeso, was a resident of the town’s Baranga Botongon.
He was served with an arrest warrant by the joint operatives of the Estancia Municipal Police Station (MPS) and San Dionisio MPS; Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Intelligence Division; Regional Intelligence Unit 6; Criminal Investigation and Detection Group; Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit and Provincial Investigation and Detection Management Unit; and Coast Guard Intelligence Group-Western Visayas and Coast Guard Estancia Sub-station.
Police said the suspect allegedly committed the crime on July 8, 2022 in San Dionisio.
Cañeso was detained at the Estancia MPS.
Judge Jose E. Gomez recommended no bail bond for his temporary liberty./PN
