ROXAS City – Her live-in partner beat to death a 29-year-old woman in their house in Barangay San Esteban, Pilar, Capiz.
Gloria Alayon, a native of Barangay Natividad, Pilar, was attacked by Jeffry del Rosario on Aug. 1, police said.
Del Rosario’s family brought Alayon to the Jesus Colmenares District Hospital in Balasan, Iloilo where she was pronounced “dead on arrival.”
Police identified del Rosario as a drug surrenderer. He fled after the incident. He was allegedly drunk and high on drugs at the time.
Jealousy may be the motive, said Inspector Generoso Algarne, Pilar police chief.
“Del Rosario has been hitting Alayon. He gets jealous every time she goes to her parents in Barangay Natividad,” Algarne said.
A postmortem examination will be conducted on Alayon’s body, police said./PN
